Have a meal or a snack before going grocery shopping. We tend to buy healthier food when we’re satiated or feeling full.
Stay in the healthy food areas. don’t go down the junk food isles.
Shop with other health conscious adults. Don’t take young children food shopping. We tend to give in to the begging and pleading for sweets.
I used to tell people to stick to the outside isles but stores are getting wise and putting the healthy foods in the middle of the store. So you need to be strong and find those healthy areas of the store.
Make it a family effort to be healthy. Explain the benefits of health. Don’t use other family members as excuses to eat bad food. It’s just as harmful to your loved ones as it is for you.
