Obi Obadike’s 5 Tips for Losing Fat

You’ve seen Obi Obadike on the covers of countless fitness magazines, you’ve read his motivational posts on Twitter, and you’ve watched him in a popular sports drink commercial. You may have even seen this 6-foot-2-inch, 200-pound muscle machine on a trophy, read his fat loss eBook, or viewed his infomercial, “The 28 Minute Workout.” You could say Obi Obadike (Oh-ba-DEE-kay) has it going on — um, yeah … hello!

But what Obi really has going for him is being one of USANA’s newest influencer, and we couldn’t be more proud. When this top fitness athlete/model/personality/expert agreed to let us in on some of his fat loss tips, we thought you might want to be in the know — because who wouldn’t want to look like “The World’s Most Ripped Fitness Model?” (By the way, Obi only has 4 percent body fat!)

Here are some of Obi’s tips to make losing fat possible:

Tip No. 1 — Make a goal.

Is your plan focused on a certain body part, like getting great abs or to improve your overall health? Once you decide what you want to achieve, find a program to help you reach your goal. For example, if your goal is to lose fat quickly, you will need to be on a low-calorie diet consisting of high protein, moderate to low carbs and moderate to low fats.

Tip No. 2 — Eat a sensible diet.

Your diet is 80 percent of the battle to getting lean. If you aren’t eating the right foods, it will be very difficult to lose weight regardless of how hard you are training in the gym.

Tip No. 3 — Mix anaerobic with aerobic exercises.

By combining weight lifting with cardio exercising, you’ll have the greatest ability to burn an infinite amount of calories, as well as speed up your metabolism. You’ll want to work out every body part three times a week.

Tip No. 4 — Be consistent.

You can’t get in great shape overnight, so don’t take breaks from your training workout. Be sure to follow every set, every rep and every exercise to the end.

Tip No. 5 — Connect your diet with your training program.

Be sure you find a diet and exercise plan tailored to your body type and for fat loss to help you reach your goals. And remember, anyone can get in shape if they’re doing the right things.
