Struggle or Success in 2013

So what is it that keeps you struggling instead of enjoying success with your health, finances or maybe even both? Why do you repeat the same daily actions over and over again expecting different results? Don’t get me wrong I’ve been there and still slip into that mode once in a while as well. I believe what keeps us there is a combination of comfort, media and lack of personal growth.

It’s true.Successful people do what unsuccessful people will not. I’m talking about truly successful people. Those people who do what they want, when they want and with whom they want. I’m not there yet but I can tell you that everything I’ve done that has moved me toward that type of success has been uncomfortable, inconvenient, not the popular move and certainly took personal growth to have the strength to swim against the stream.

I chose network marketing as a vehicle to get me out of the rat race and the everyday dread of the alarm clock, nine to five or shift work, working weekends, financial struggles etc.  I chose USANA Health Sciences to help me learn to live a healthy, mindful life. It doesn’t matter what you choose as long as in the long run it gets you away from the “working yourself to death to make someone else rich” type of lifestyle. 

Look for opportunities that make you residual income. Income that comes again and again for work that you do once.  Leveraged income.  Income that you make from others that you have helped be successful.  Look for a win, win team work opportunity where everyone on the team wants success for each other.  A Positive, healthy environment to grow and achieve your Health and financial goals or whatever you’re moving towards.

If you really want to get better results in your life you need to do something different not the same thing over and over again expecting those better results. So give up the things that waste your time like TV, wasted internet time playing useless Facebook games, reading meaningless books that do not enhance your life or personal growth, endless shopping for STUFF you don’t need, hours spent in coffee shops without purpose etc. You get the idea. Think about what you’re doing and how it moves you toward your success or away from it. A great book or audio about this is The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson.

Invest in yourself not others. Spend time and money developing yourself in ways that move you toward your own personal success.Get training, mentoring, help with personal growth, read productive books that teach you how to move towards your success. It’s not rocket science but it is against the flow and certainly will be uncomfortable and you will definitely be challenged by the people around you.

They will say things like, that will never work, that’s a waste of time, you’re not fun anymore, that’s one of those scams, bla bla bla. What I do in this situation is look at the person giving that feedback and say to myself (sometimes out loud) if I wanted to be like you I’d take advice from you and do what you do. But I want more than what you are so I will take what you have to say under consideration but not to heart. Find mentors you look up to and have success that you desire and will give you advice on how to get to where they are.

You are the average of the five people you hang around with so take a look at who you spend time with and if they encourage you to be the success you seek, great. If not then you need to start adding friends that move you forward and limiting time spent with those that hold you back.

You may need to make some sacrifices in the beginning but in the long run you will be the winner and have the true success you are looking for.
